📘 Academic Guidelines
Academic excellence at St. John’s College of Nursing is built on a foundation of discipline, ethics, and commitment. These guidelines ensure consistency, responsibility, and high professional standards throughout a student’s academic journey.
Uniform Policy
- Prescribed nursing uniforms are mandatory for all theory and clinical sessions.
- Uniforms must be neat, well-ironed, and complete with ID cards and aprons.
- Jewellery, makeup, and long nails are not permitted during duty.
- Hair must be neatly tied; loose hair is not allowed in clinical areas.
Discipline and Conduct
- Students must maintain punctuality, respect, and professionalism at all times.
- Usage of mobile phones is restricted during class and clinical hours.
- Misconduct, absenteeism, or negligence in duties will invite disciplinary action.
- Respect toward faculty, patients, and fellow students is non-negotiable.
Attendance Policy
- A minimum of 90 % attendance in theory and 100 % in clinical training is compulsory.
- Defaulters may be debarred from internal and university examinations.
Fees & Payment Structure
- All academic, hostel, and special fees must be paid at the beginning of each academic year.
- Students who fail to clear dues will be ineligible for classes, exams, and postings.
Vacation & Leave Rules
- Vacations are granted as per INC norms and university calendar.
- Leave for illness or emergencies must be supported with a medical certificate and prior intimation to the Principal.
- Unauthorized absence may result in disciplinary action or loss of attendance.
Withdrawal Policy
- Students withdrawing mid-course must pay the entire course fee as per university regulations.
- Proper clearance certificates must be obtained from both the college and the university before withdrawal.
